The office will be closed on November 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day and will reopen the following day with regular business hours.
The office will also be closed on November 28th and 29th for Thanksgiving Vacation.
Thank you everyone that went out to the GRFD Open House and that supported our local fire department. The fire truck rides, and bouncy house were popular with the kids and the food was great. Thank you to our firefighters for all you do!
Coffee with a Cop was a great success. We had four officers come out and chat with members of our community. We appreciate the support and protection from Douglas County Sheriff’s Department for our little town.
Thank you to everyone who made the CCVCA Costume and Pumpkin Contest and Parade possible. Our little community appreciates all that your association does for us. And thank you to everyone who came out to show support and those who participated in the contests.
The 4th Annual Coloring Contest is kicking off this month. There are four categories, so we hope to get more entries this year. Coloring pages will be available at Morningstar Coffee House, Glenway Super Store and Nano’s Mexican Restaurant. Entries need to be turned in before December 9th and winners will be announced on December 12th.
Daylight savings time ends on November 3rd. It’s time once again to turn your clocks back an hour.
Operation Christmas Applications need to be turned back into either the high school or the elementary school by November 4th.
Glendale High School Drama Club presents A Hollywood Fairytale showing November 14th,15th, and 16th at 7:00 PM with doors opening at 6:30 PM. Tickets go on sale at Morningstar Coffee House on November 1st or at the door.
Self-sufficiency Mobile Community Outreach will be in town on November 21st at 1:00 PM in front of the Community Care Pantry on Pacific Avenue.
Morningstar Winter Vendor Market is November 22nd to 24th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Morningstar Coffee House. Come out and support local artists and crafters. They may have that perfect gift for your someone special.
Christmas Bureau Dinner box applications will be available November 22nd. Applications will be available at City Hall, Morningstar Coffee House, Umpqua Bank and the Azalea Mountain Store and can be returned to any of these locations. The CCVCA will be holding their Annual Pie Auction and Raffle on November 26th at 6:00 PM in the Elementary School Gym. Contact the CCVCA if you would like to donate a pie or baked good to the auction. Donations always welcome.
JUST A REMINDER: CURRENT UTILITY BILLING SCHEDULE
- Utility Bills are mailed on the 1st
- Payment is Due by the 10th with a grace period until the 20th
- Late Notices will be mailed on the 21st and will include the $20.00 Late Fee incurred if not paid
- Delinquent accounts that have not been paid by the last day of the month will be shut off for non-payment and a $30.00 reconnect fee will be added to the account. The account must be paid in full before service can be restored.
- If payment is received after 4:00 PM, service will be restored the following day, or an After-hours Service Call Charge will be charged at a rate of $12.50 a service call for anyone wanting service returned after 4:00 PM.
